Web Design for Gestorías and Asesorías

Most websites for Spanish accountancy and tax firms are a pretty brochure that does nothing. I build something different: a site that earns trust and, optionally, a client portal where clients upload documents, an intake that classifies invoices and payslips with AI, and reminders for the deadlines that don't forgive. Freelance developer, your code, in Barcelona and across Spain.

Client documents transforming into organized digital files inside an AI-powered management dashboard

An accountancy firm doesn't need a pretty website. It needs one that works.

Spain has 416,544 companies in professional activities according to the INE (DIRCE, 1 January 2025), the second-largest group in the country, and gestorías and asesorías sit at the heart of that fabric. Their work is document-driven and deadline-bound: quarterly VAT, monthly payroll, form 111, 130, income tax. Yet almost every website in the sector stops at presentation: it says who you are but doesn't help you operate or win clients. On top of that, a wave of regulation lands squarely on these firms -Verifactu and B2B e-invoicing- because they are the ones who will guide their clients through the change. A website built for this sector should solve both: earn the new client's trust and take repetitive work off the firm's plate.

A firm's daily reality

What actually eats time at the practice

Before talking about design, it helps to see where the time goes. These are the bottlenecks a well-built website can ease.

Documents everywhere

Clients send invoices by email, WhatsApp, blurry photos and paper. Someone downloads, renames and files them by hand. A client portal centralizes intake and tracks what's missing.

Deadlines that don't forgive

Quarterly VAT, monthly payroll, withholdings, income tax. Chasing clients to deliver on time is recurring work that reminders can automate.

The same questions, over and over

How's my filing going, what documents are missing, when is the next payment. A private area showing status cuts down the drip of calls and emails.

A website that neither wins nor operates

The sector's typical site is a brochure: it neither generates qualified enquiries nor helps day to day. It's a cost, not a tool.

Verifactu and B2B invoicing knocking

Your clients will ask you how to comply. Verifactu is mandatory on 1 January 2027 for companies and 1 July 2027 for the self-employed; B2B e-invoicing arrives in parallel. Worth having an answer ready.

What I build for a firm

From a trust-building site to a practice that runs a little better

The website is the base. From there, each block is optional and added according to what truly takes work off your plate. Everything is your code, integrated with what you already use.

A professional site that earns trust

Fast (under 2 seconds), flawless on mobile, with clear services and specialties. The base that turns a visit into an enquiry. Available from the Starter package.

Secure client portal

A private area where each client uploads their documents, sees the status of their filings and downloads what's theirs. Fewer emails, less WhatsApp, all with an audit trail and permissions.

AI document intake

Incoming invoices, payslips and delivery notes are read and classified automatically (OCR + AI), ready for your software. You review, you don't transcribe. Using Claude, OpenAI or self-hosted models depending on data sensitivity.

Deadline reminders and tracking

Automatic alerts to the client when a document is missing or a deadline approaches (VAT, payroll, income tax). The firm stops chasing and starts receiving.

Integration with your management software

Connection with A3, Sage, Holded, Anfix or your current program if it has an API. I don't replace your stack: I connect it so data stops moving by hand.

GDPR and professional secrecy built in

You handle sensitive tax and personal data. Encryption, access control, activity logging and GDPR from day one. The portal is designed for confidentiality, not bolted on after.

Ready for Verifactu and B2B invoicing

I build the technical side with the legal deadlines in mind so that neither you nor your clients arrive late to Verifactu or B2B e-invoicing.

Your code, no lock-in

Delivered as a Git repository you own, documented. If you change developer tomorrow, someone else can maintain it. No endless subscriptions for features you already paid for.

This page brings together two of my services: web design in Barcelona and automation & AI, applied to the specific case of an accountancy firm.

How it works

From a messy document to ready data in your software

01

The client uploads their documents

Through the portal, not loose WhatsApp or email.

02

Secure portal with permissions

Each client sees only theirs, with audit trail and GDPR.

03

AI classifies and sorts

Invoices, payslips and delivery notes, ready to review.

04

Ready in your software

Synced with A3, Sage, Holded or your ERP.

See it live

A demo beats a thousand promises

No website in the sector lets you try what it sells. I'd rather show it: a sample client portal with document upload, automatic classification and a status panel, so you see exactly how it would work in your practice before deciding anything.

How we work

From the first call to handover, in 4 steps

  1. 1

    Practice diagnosis

A 30-60 minute call to understand your client volume, the software you use and where the time goes. I leave with a clear idea of what to build first so the payback comes quickly.

  2. 2

    Design and scope

Mockups of the site and, if relevant, the portal. A document with scope, integrations, estimated monthly running cost, timeline and fixed price. If it fits, I start.

  3. 3

    Custom build

Development in code with a test environment kept separate from yours. Demos by block so you see progress and we adjust before it gets costly.

  4. 4

    Integration and handover

Connection with your management software, testing with real data (anonymized if needed), GDPR verification and training for your team. You keep the code and the freedom to continue yourself or with anyone you choose.

Who it's for

Who it serves best (and who it doesn't)

A good fit if
  • Tax, labour or accounting firms that want to stop chasing documents from their clients
  • Practices with a dated website that neither wins new clients nor conveys the trust their work deserves
  • Firms already feeling the pressure of Verifactu and B2B invoicing who want to arrive prepared
  • Practices spending hours classifying documents by hand who have ruled out no-code platforms for their limits
Probably not, if
  • You only need a one-page site and nothing more: the standard Starter package is enough and cheaper
  • You want the lowest possible price above all else: this is about operational value, not the cheapest website on the market
  • You prefer a closed platform with a monthly fee that already bundles a portal: a valid option, just different from what I do

How it works

Start with the website. Add portal and AI when it pays off.

Most firms start with a professional website that wins clients and builds trust, then add the portal and AI once volume justifies it. These are the two usual paths.

Frequently asked

What accountancy firms usually ask

How much does a website for an accountancy firm cost?+

A professional website for a firm starts at €790 (Starter package, up to 5 pages) or €1,490 (Professional, with blog and advanced SEO). That covers presentation and lead generation. When you add a client portal, AI document intake or integration with your software, the project moves to a custom quote, with a floor at €2,500.

The price is fixed before we start, not by hours that later grow. What raises the cost is the portal's scope (number of features, permissions per client type), the integrations (whether your software has a documented API) and compliance requirements. The first call ends with a clear range before you sign anything.

What is a client portal and do I really need one?+

It's a private area where each client uploads their documents, sees the status of their filings and downloads what's theirs, with permissions and an audit trail. You need it if today you receive documents by email and WhatsApp and someone at the firm sorts them by hand. If your volume is small and manageable, it may not pay off yet.

The honest question in the diagnosis is how many hours a month your team spends receiving, sorting and chasing documents. If it's a lot, the portal pays for itself. If it's little, a good website may be enough and we leave the portal for later. I don't sell a portal to someone who doesn't need it.

Can you receive and classify documents automatically?+

Yes. Documents that come in through the portal (invoices, payslips, delivery notes) are read with OCR and classified with AI, leaving them sorted and ready for your software. You review and validate, you don't transcribe. Depending on data sensitivity I use Claude, OpenAI or self-hosted open-source models.

Automatic classification doesn't replace professional judgement: it speeds it up. The system proposes (document type, period, client) and a person confirms, especially at first while it learns your firm's patterns. For especially sensitive data, the self-hosted option keeps documents on your own server without passing through third parties.

How does Verifactu affect my firm?+

It affects you twice over: as a company that invoices and as your clients' adviser. Verifactu is mandatory on 1 January 2027 for companies and 1 July 2027 for the self-employed. Your clients will ask you how to adapt, so arriving prepared is also a commercial opportunity.

In parallel comes B2B e-invoicing from the Crea y Crece law, mandatory from July 2027 for companies invoicing over €8M and later for the rest. I build the technical side so your website and portal play well with these changes, and so you can position yourself to clients as the firm that already has it handled.

Does it integrate with A3, Sage, Holded or my current program?+

Yes, as long as your software exposes an API. I work integrating with A3, Sage, Holded, Anfix and other management programs common in firms. I don't replace your stack: I connect it so data stops being copied by hand.

What I assess in the diagnosis is whether your program allows, via API, what you want to automate. Modern SaaS (Holded, Anfix) usually document it well. Some older desktop programs are more limited, and in those cases we may need to build a bridge or work with exports. I tell you clearly before we start.

Does it comply with GDPR and professional secrecy?+

Yes, and it's designed for it from the start, not bolted on. You handle sensitive tax and personal data, so the portal includes encryption, role-based access control, activity logging and processing compliant with GDPR. Confidentiality is a design requirement, not a checkbox.

In practice this means: each client only sees what's theirs, every access is logged, documents travel encrypted and retention periods are defined. If you handle especially sensitive data, we can keep the AI part on your own servers so documentation never leaves your infrastructure. Everything is documented so you can demonstrate compliance.

Is it compatible with the Kit Digital?+

Depending on the block, yes. The website part can fit the Website and Internet Presence category, and the AI automations the Kit Digital AI category, with grants of up to €6,000 from April 2026. I help you align the project with the applicable categories.

The usual process: we review which categories fit, I prepare the technical documentation the application requires, and we coordinate with an authorized digitalization agent to process the grant. If your firm already used its grant, the project is still viable; only who pays for it changes.

Do you work with firms outside Barcelona?+

Yes. I'm based in Barcelona but work with firms across Spain. Meetings are held by video call and the process is 100% remote, so location doesn't affect the project. For local clients, the initial meeting can be in person if you prefer.

The portal and integrations work the same wherever you are, because they live in the cloud (or on your server, if we choose the self-hosted option). Later support is also remote, with the option of occasional in-person sessions for clients in the Barcelona area.
